Hoylake Village Life is a new voluntary group, made up of local residents and businesses, who each spare a bit of time to help make Hoylake a better place. We are organising events for the local community, promoting Hoylake to businesses and visitors, and helping to make Hoylake more attractive. The more people we have on board, the more we can achieve, so if you can spare a little time to make Hoylake better then let us know. Email us and check out our website.

Hoylake Open Food Fair and Wirral Open Studio Tour
Hoylake Village Life is keen to support other initiatives in Hoylake. There are some fantastic events coming up soon, which Hoylake Village Life is helping out with. On Sunday 31 October, Hoylake Community Centre is hosting a Food Fair, giving local food producers the opportunity to showcase and sell their goods.
On 12-14 November, Hoylake Village Life’s own artist, Micheline Robinson, is organising the Wirral Open Studio Tour. This event, which is part of the Independent Biennial programme, will feature a trail of art exhibitions throughout Wirral, with artists’ homes and galleries being open to view their work. Hoylake features heavily on the trail, so watch out for the publicity.

Star-Spangled Banners
At Hoylake Village Life we like to look at the bigger picture. As well as community events, we’re exploring ways of making a real difference to the look of Market Street. One way is to make use of those banner brackets fitted to the new lampposts on Market Street. We’ve designed some stunning looking banners, each with a unique image representing Hoylake, and are securing sponsorship from local businesses. Hopefully soon you’ll see the banners installed along Market Street, to make a real difference to our high street. More projects like this will be planned for the future, so get involved now!

Survivor!
The things we do for Hoylake. On 5 September, Hoylake Village Life's own daredevil, Mark Howard, completed a shark dive to raise funds for Hoylake. Mark raised £300, and managed to come through the experience unharmed (as did the shark!). The money will be used for HVL's local regeneration work, events, support for other local charities and organisations, and more.
Fancy doing something yourself? HVL would love to promote any weird and wonderful sponsored activities you would like to do to raise funds at Hoylake.Email us
A Bright and Happy Future for Hoylake…
We see lots of good things ahead for Hoylake. We see a thriving Market Street, full of shoppers and activity. We see things to do for all the family. We see events, festivals, parades, carnivals and family fun days. We see people coming from miles around to stroll along the Promenade and beach, watching the birds and admiring the views. We see major sports events coming back to Hoylake regularly. We see lots of fresh and vibrant businesses on Market Street, famous brand names, and local independent businesses. We see creativity everywhere, with lots of music, performance and art. We see generations, young and old, mixing together and enjoying life.
Is this a view you share for Hoylake? Hoylake Village Life believes it can happen, but we know it won’t happen overnight, and we know it definitely won’t happen if nobody does anything. It needs you and me, your neighbours and your families, to get involved. Make things happen, make a difference, do it together, and do it now. Hoylake needs everyone to get involved, to create a bright and happy future. So join us at Hoylake Village Life, email us and say hello!
