| Oke Ugonna |
| Oke was born in Lagos Nigeria but moved to Merseyside as a result of changed family situation. He attended St Anselm's College in Birkenhead from !991 to1996. He completed his foundation course in Art and Design at Wirral Metropolitan college at Withens lane. His first idea for a career was to become an engineer but soon found this was not for him and a change in his personal situation forced him to abandon the course. He returned to his first interest, that is, the Arts and rekindled it with a part time course in Art History. From 2004 to 2007 he completed a course in Fine Art at the University of Chester. From 2007 to 2008 he attended Liverpool Hope University completing a Masters in Painting as part of a course by Creative Arts. He intends to further his education and redirect this new knowledge into his painting practice. Oke's work studies the value of place. His hometown, Hoylake, has been a constant source of inspiration, providing the main body of his artistic practice. |
