| Robert Blackburn - Fine Arts |

Born in Liverpool, Robert Blackburn completed his studies at the Liverpool College of Art.
He then worked in commercial art in the North West. During a period of change, he lived and worked in North Wales before entering the teaching profession and becoming head of the art department in a large comprehensive school. During his career, he worked on stage design, store and exhibition displays and graphics.

Barbara Meynell creates vibrant, intricate pictures using the technique of batik. Each piece of work is totally individual due to the unique and unpredictable outcomes of using hot wax and dyes on paper and silk. She mostly draws inspiration from coastal and mountain landscapes, exploring the essence of a place and aiming to capture space and light in her work.

Combining photography with painting has been what I was always looking for. I like the fact that I can create anything that I want and still look for innovative ways to work with this medium.

Istra Toner, born in 1947 in Montenegro, has lived in the UK since 1968, and in West Kirby since 1995. In 2008 she graduated in art and design from Glyndwr University in Wales where she specialised in glass art after a long academic career as a psychologist. Her main interest is in combining all art forms and psychology of being. Istra regularly exhibits in UK and in Croatia. Her studio and gallery are in Croatia where she spends a part of the year working as an independent artist. She is involved in local and international creative community projects.
