Powerboating

If you find cruising across the water a touch too leisurely, why not try the wild adrenaline rush of powerboating? Ideal for those with a lust for speed, powerboating is exhilarating, fun and fast.

National Powerboat Certificate (Levels 1 & 2)
This course suits those keen for a basic introduction to powerboating. It provides practical instruction in boat handling skills, seamanship and safety in powerboats.

Safety Boat Certificate
The aim of this course is to provide the skills needed when acting as an escort craft, safety boat or coaching boat. You must hold the RYA Level 2 Certificate to participate in this course.

Advanced Powerboat Certificate
The aim of this course is to teach the skills required to drive a boat safely on coastal waters during the day and night. Participants should have a number of year’s sailing experience and already be very capable powerboat handlers.

International Certificate of Competence Deemed the driving license of the powerboating world. Many countries require visiting yachtsmen to hold a Certificate of Competence. If you are planning to sail or cruise within Europe and the Mediterranean the RYA recommends skippers to hold the International Certificate of Competence (ICC). Please contact the Sailing Centre for further details.

Please Note: The above courses can only operate during suitable tides. Please contact the Sailing Centre for further details.
